host website? on redhat 8.0 home system

I was wondering if I could take a system and put redhat 8.0 onto and run it as a server hosting a web site from my home. Any ideas on doing this? Or should I just go through a hosting site and pay the fees.

Thats your choice.

But back to the question, yes httpd serves up web pages.

You will need a static IP, or otherwise mangle the system to always updtae to accomodate a dynamic IP.

Get a static IP address and buy a hosname or domain and run httpd.

Also, you'll want to (stealthily) check with your ISP, because they tend to get a little pissy when you're not paying them for your web traffic (business account), especially if it's a good amount. Some will cancel all your service or "punish" you for even having a web server with a home user account.
