Smile Hi there

Quick intro , Tony 53 Notts

Been mucking about with linux distros for a few years ,so i`m not really a newbie

i have been given an Advent 7096 (331 series !!!) laptop ,no OS and i can`t get a distro to load its (i think a graphics issue).

So i downloaded an old version of Mint 7 and it worked

Any one know of a distro that might work, basically i want to watch dvds and browse the internet on it
Cheers Tony

If you've had a bit of experience with linux and your machine is a bit old try building LFS as you can tailor it to an older machine without all the bloat that most distros throw in, or alternatively try Slackware it's a pretty mean lean distro.

According to http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/advent/laptop/7096.htm the 7096 comes with a ATI Radeon Xpress 200 but IIGC AMD/ATI dropped support for cards below the X2100 series in Catalyst 9.4...
