[QUOTE=sh: can't access tty job control turned off[/QUOTE]

The best thing to start with, is Googling that exact phrase inside double quotes.

You might also go to http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html.

While I consider that the attitude of who wrote that article arrogant, it is good info on how to get your computer problems solved more quickly.

Chakra is a version of Arch linux that has a gui installer and uses kde4 desktop .
http://chakra-project.org/
it is not the best choice for a "new to linux " user

There is a it more to it than Arch ,but not by much .
most everything is going to be a manual set up .
You are in for a VERY steep and LONG learning curve expect it to take a week for the install and set up and about 6 months to a year learn it .

and not much in the way of automation
the place to start might be the wiki
http://chakra-project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

then the Arch documentation ( it is VERY extensive )
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Main_Page
- a good reference page ---
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Table_of_Contents

John VV is right. It took me about 4 times to get Chakra installed in a VirtualBox Guest. And so far, it seems WAY different than Debian/Ubuntu/Linuxmint. It does look nice, but as they say on the web page, it's still in alpha, so I think it's only meant for Linux Gurus.
