HELP :/ Installed 8.1 Phoebe and no wireless

Heloo guys...

well first when i upgraded from 8.0 to phoebe and rebooted i heard the hi-lo beeps and the led was blinking on my card.

But wlan was needed to be reinstalled... so i removed pcmcia rpm

installed the latest pcmcia-cs then

$ rpm -ivh kernel-wlan-ng-0.1.15-5.rh80.i686.rpm
$ rpm -ivh kernel-wlan-ng-modules-rh80.14-0.1.15-5.rh80.i686.rpm
$ rpm -ivh kernel-wlan-ng-pcmcia-0.1.15-5.rh80.i686.rpm (no never rpms)

configued wlan.opts, ifcfg-wlan0 and such

reboot... no hi-lo... :/

do pcmcia restart(in rc.d/init.d path).. nothing happends, no return no erro no result

i do cardmgr... nothing ones again :/

what can be the probelem? pcmcia worked when i upgraded, once i uninstalled it it no longer did

i also tried using the rpm of pcmica which came with 8.1..

i used the tar wlan also, compiled and installed all correctly, still no pcmcia

can anyone help me out? alot of users are pissed at me for my webserver being down heh

The RH 8.0 modules are built for a different kernel then I'm betting phoebe ships with and there's no way to crossload old modules against a new kernel.

What kernel have you got with a:

uname -r

You can build the www.linux-wlan.net drivers from source or try to use the onboard orinoco drivers, either will do. I can help with either if you get stuck.

Cheers,

Finegan
