help in installing "make"

hi! i need some help installing make. i am using suse 9.1 personal edition. i always get this message in shell when trying to install mplayer - "bash: make: command not found". i downloaded the make package "make-3.80.tar.bz". i did "./configure", but now i am stuck because i don't know how to continue from here. please help. thanks.

Download the rpm from rpm.pbone.net. One of the problems with not having make is that you can't compile a make-tarball cause you don't have make....

You sure you dont just need to install some supplied development packages such as AutoMake and gcc?

thanks for the replies. i managed to solve the problem. i found out that suse 9.1 personal edition doesn't include the make packages using the default installation. i downloaded the required rpm packages and it works fine.
