help for webserver

My machine webserver was running ok. But now when i try to connect it is showing the folling errors. The httpd demon is running. Please advice me what to do

ERROR that it shows:

[root@cb root]# lynx localhost

Looking up localhost first
Looking up localhost
localhost
Making HTTP connection to localhost
Alert!: Unable to connect to remote host.

lynx: Can't access startfile http://localhost/

Can you try using a graphical web browser?
try for example

mozilla http://localhost/ &

What about lynx 127.0.0.1 ? Does that launch your site? What is the actual name of your machine? Have you tried to restart apache to test?
