Unhappy Help-A-n00b

i have Xfree86 version 4.3.99........
I want to download ATI drivers for my card but it seems that ATI doesnt get along with Linux...?
The versions I see on ATI page are 4.1.0, 4.2.0, and 043.0

I already installed 4.3.0 thinking that may be the right driver (hmmmm, you know, like if that meant 4.3 series...and i have 4.3.99) ..............but I'm not sure.

If i should not have installed it, then how can i uninstall the driver, or whatever it is.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

4.3.0 really means 4.3.0 or greater I think, if it works then there shouldnt' be a need to uninstall

have you asked ati themselves? i usually ask hardware vendors if i'm having a problem with their product. i usually get back a 'we don't support linux' form letter, tho. i figure if i keep asking companies enough, they'll someday cave and actually support linux.
asking can't hurt. rarely ever helps, tho.

Still a nice attitude, more people should do that.

For ATI see:
