GUI not working in launched instance in AWS


I am typing the following commands to display images:

  • shotwell --display "thunder.jpg" [IT NOT WORKED THEN I WENT TO BELOW COMMAND eye of gnome:] eog thunder.jpg
Following error occurred:

Failed to connect to Mir: Failed to connect to server socket: No such file or directory
Unable to init server: Broadway display type not supported: thunder.JPG
Cannot open display: thunder.JPG
Also when I tried:

Code:

export display=:0
After that folowing error occurred:

Code:

Failed to connect to Mir: Failed to connect to server socket: No such file or directory
Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused

(eog:7053): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0
I am not getting why is this happenning and how to solve?? Any suggesstions please???

I see that Mir is an Ubuntu replacement for X11, that being the case, it is a graphical problem.

Open a graphical image program to display your picture.
