gtkpod for 4th generarion nano ipod in jaunty

i have a brand new 4th gen ipod nano.and i want to know if i can operate it with the gtkpod version available in repositories.also can i right away begin loading the pod using gtk without starting with itunes?wil there be any complications?

I just loaded a new 16gb nano with music and pictures using gtkod in ubuntu 9,04 works great

i gave it a try.but after feeding the preliminary details like model and some simple questions,when i hit the add files button,it said sekect a directory first to add tracks and playlists.how do i do that?

there should be a button there, or iirc you can do it via Edit -> Preferences or something similar. it wants the directory on your machine where you normally keep all your music.
