Here is the fdisk -l output

From the live cd terminal you will not need to get a grub prompt with grub2. Try those commands I give you in post #3 from live cd terminal and make sure internal hd is 1st boot in your computer bios. If this does not fix then I am missing something.

I tried those commands but i am still getting the grub rescue screen. My internal hd is also set to the 1st boot.

If that's the case try making external drive boot priority.
BTW is windows able to boot?

I just set the external to boot 1st and now it is giving me the message error: no such partition
grub rescue>
Windows is unable to boot as i just get grub rescue screens

I diceded to delete my ubuntu partition and fix the start up with a windows repair disk.
I am then going to reinstall ubuntu on a partion on the internal HD so it hopefuly this will not happen again.
