Go to the link I posted in post 6 which explains in detail several methods you can use to reinstall Grub. If you have the Ubuntu CD, the first option is the easiest. If you have problems, post back. You don't need to remove what you currently have. If you use the methods at the site above, it will overwrite whatever you currently have and give you a newbootloader. Keep track of steps you take and what succeeds and what fails and any error message if it fails.
