see terminal output reproduced below:

dogphlap@dogphlap-P5Q-PRO:~$ sudo grub-install /dev/sda
Installation finished. No error reported.
dogphlap@dogphlap-P5Q-PRO:~$

I first compared blkid and fstab on the backup disk and then grub-install.
Everything matched and no errors there either. Both disks still boot.
