Unhappy gnome applications menus bunched together


The subject line is a search string that got me nowhere near what I was looking for on Google. (I've decided that Google as a search resource is like what Churchill supposedly said about democracy; the worst form of government except for all the others.)

A screenshot of GNOME Viewer should suffice.

It happened pretty immediately. Once they were as normally-spaced as my KDE or third-party apps (Geany, PaleMoon, etc.) and now they're like this. To keep myself from getting too annoyed by this, I've already un-installed gedit.

Anyone have a clue as to what happened?

it's a theme problem.
change to a theme that supports your current gnome version.

yeah, i know, it sucks, but that's gnome. deviate from the canonical path, your SOL.

Thank you. That's what it was. I also tweaked my K visuals (switched the mouse pointer to DMZ Black and disabled all animations). I'll close this thread but I may add to it if similar issues crop up.
