I have "getskype-linux-dynamic-Requires Qt 3.2.tar.bz2" installed.
I connect to the internet via a proxy server.
Skype never works for me. I am a new user and do not have a skype i.d. so whenever I run skype I try to register as a new user. I fill in all the details and then press the next button, Skype says Connecting .....
but it never connects.
It seems that it cannot connect anywhere. I looked for preferences/tools/settings sections to see for a place where to enter the address of my proxy server, but I didn't find any such section. So I guess Skype uses some Global proxy settings (just a guess).
If this is the case I do not know how to set those Global Proxy Settings in Slackware 10.0
What all should I do to get this working?
Thanks in anticipation.
I think that if I can somehow setup my global proxy settings then maybe Skype would work. (Just a guess though)
In Fedora Core I know there was a section under (Gnome main menu) -> (Preferences) -> (Network Proxy) where you could set up your network proxy. But I do not know how to do that in Slackware 10.0
