getting eror in installing Oracle 10g on Linux.

Hi All,

I am new to Linux.

Currently I am installing oracle 10g release 2 with Red hat Linux 4.

I am getting the following error.

Exception Name: MakefileException
Exception String: Error in invoking target 'ntcontab.o' of makefile '/home/oracle/oracle_10.2/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk'.

In forum I saw this kind of post and I did all the steps, then also getting the error.

RedHat Linux 4?

I did not get your question.

Are you asking which version of Linux I am using?

I am using Linux 4 version with update 3.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 4.3

"Linux 4" is not the name of your OS. The short name is Redhat EL 4.
( Redhat Linux 4 is a 14 year old version, as said by @Tinkster.)

Did you ask Oracle, if the old Redhat EL4 can be used with your
version of "Oracle 10g" ?
