I am running SLED 10 on an IBM T42 with an Athero wireless card that I'm trying to connect to a LinkSys wireless router. The LinkSys router is using WEP encryption, and I have the keys available on the T42. The OS recognizes the card, make and model, with no problem. It attempts to connect on startup. The first time I set it up, it connected fine and I was able to get to the internet for several hours. I rebooted the machine, and it attempted to connect without success. After fiddling with it for a couple hours another night, I was able to get it connected again for several hours. Since then, it attempts to connect. Sometimes it will connect for a moment or two, but then it drops off.

Both times when it connected successfully, it prompted me for the key. When I supplied the key, it went right in. I am using the network manager on SLED 10. When I go into the configuration for the wireless card, I see the keys. Comparing them with the router, they match perfectly.
