ftp access rights

I want to assign rights to user for specific two folder to access them via ftp i.e. httpdocs/gallery/thumbnail
httpdocs/gallery/pictures

How do I do that?

what FTP program are you using? You can do it via the FTP configuration in conjunction with local permissions

The user may use different ftp programs but I have to give the user rights to a specific directory. again e.g. I want to give right to "aa" to access /opt/tomcat folder and nothing else on the server
