Forwarding Sound
I have a linux box sitting in the corner of my room. The way it is setup it controls music, movies, tells me when I have mail, the lights, the blinds, and the television with voice controlling software. Now I have a laptop that has a built in microphone. The laptop does a dual boot with linux and the latest version of ubuntu(yay ubuntu's driver enumeration junk) and the server runs ubuntu as well. My problem is that I want to forward my mic input from the windows/linux laptop and have the server think that I am talking into the connected mic. Possibly whenever I hold down a certain key combo but that is something minimal. Does anyone have any suggestions how to do this? I would still like the option to use the microphone as well so maybe use some virtulized audio components?
