Question formatting HDD

How do I check Hard Drive capacity, partition and format drives in Linux?

Check HD capacity:
df -h (or I think fdisk -s /dev/hdX?) Although that only applies to mounted partitions/hd's

Check a partition:
fdisk -l

mke2fs -j /dev/hdX

Those are generic and not all inclusive, if you have a more in depth question about them, I'd be happy to elaborate.
