formatting hard drive and re-installing linux

How do I do this? I think I messed up too many times during the couple of first days as Linux user and even those things that worked fine before doesn't work now. I just feel it's a good idea to start all over again now that I know little more about what to do.

Thanks.

Insert your linux CD and reboot.

Then just follow the instructions.

Tell the installer to automatically partition the system for you if you want. Not if you have windows installed though.
