Red face Format Question

Question If my Windows MBR got messed updue to me trying to install Sabayon 3.26c can I use PartitionMagic to re-install my windows boot looder over grub ?

In addition to that. Can I format The /root Partation as ext3 then go install Sabayon from the Live cd and when it asks me to Make change or leave file structure as "unchanged" I can select this option and contenue on right ?

I am trying to learn and my Gentoo Buddy is out of town and my Son needs to use my box.

Please Help!

No--you would need to boot from the Windows install disk. I think there are other options, but I don't have them in front of me.

There should not be a /root partition. What you are referring to is simply the "/" partition, which is the root of the filesystem. "/root" is the folder for the root user--which has a totally different meaning.

Yes, what you describe should work fine....
