folder copy command

cp <source file> <destination file>
will copy your linux file from the source to the destination. my question is what then is the command to copy folders? because i tried to use this to copy a folder from source to destination but was unsuccesfull

cp -R <folder name> <destination> will do it.

use man cp

to understand how the copy command works.

You'll want to use the --recursive option to copy directories.
