firefox/internet connection problem

hi, I'm a completely new to ubuntu..just installed it in my windows..after solving the problem with my resolution im having problem with my connection... coz it work fine in my windows.. i know my internet is connected with ubuntu coz i can see the stat : idle , sending/recieving, the problem is when i browse the web with firefox the only site i can open is google.com. other site like yahoo, youtube etc.. the status of firefox is always wating...pls help ....

Porbably google is in cache or you use a proxy which denies all other website or doesn't allow some of those you checked.
Do you try a request into google to avoid a cache phenomenous ?
ping your gateway to check your network connection.

Just finish pinging my gateway..i ping websites like yahoo,youtube and 100% successful.. i think there is something that is blocking other site..i can load pages like goolge.com..and every links inside google like google maps ..but on other sites the status of my firefox is always waiting.. anyone know how to fix it.. T_T
