ftp://127.0.0.1

127.0.0.1 is your local computer, NOT the ip from the outside.
if i hit ftp://127.0.0.1 I connect to my own computer.
Your public IP is 71.161.50.175
This IP is not reachable from the outside, because
your ISP is blocking the lower ports
or there is a firewall in the router
or there is a firewall on your computer.

Then the ISP is blocking the ports.
You can ask them to open the ports for ftp.
However, I don't think many people will come to get the DVD, they rather get it from the official linux sites.
You could try torrent, but again people download torrents from the official linux sites.

As I said before, I don't see the point for this DVD.

linus72,
You asked me about vsftpd on your other thread.
I am afraid that I will have to leave it to others to advise you on this. vsftpd is all new to me.

Just a couple of general points:
1) I use guarddog as a firewall.

http://www.simonzone.com/software/gu...tutorial-basic

I have heard that firestarter is pretty good as well.

http://www.fs-security.com/

2) I would recommend using vim as opposed to nano, but as with most things, it if often just personal preference.
There is an excellent vim tutorial here:

Good luck with vsftpd and the new graphics card.
