As I mentioned in my original post, When i try to delete them from a PC, it gives me a 550 Remove directory operation failed.

If there may be more details in a server log, I couldn't find them, so you'll need to tell me where to look.

What does your /etc/vsftpd.conf look like?

I tried to clean it up skipping a bunch of commented out stuff, so here you go

# Allow anonymous FTP? (Beware - allowed by default if you comment this out).
anonymous_enable=NO
#
# Uncomment this to allow local users to log in.
local_enable=YES
#
# Uncomment this to enable any form of FTP write command.
write_enable=YES
#
# Default umask for local users is 077. You may wish to change this to 022,
# if your users expect that (022 is used by most other ftpd's)
local_umask=002
#
# Activate logging of uploads/downloads.
xferlog_enable=YES
#
# Make sure PORT transfer connections originate from port 20 (ftp-data).
connect_from_port_20=YES
#
# You may override where the log file goes if you like. The default is shown
# below.
xferlog_file=/var/log/vsftpd.log
#
# If you want, you can have your log file in standard ftpd xferlog format
xferlog_std_format=YES
#
# You may change the default value for timing out an idle session.
idle_session_timeout=1200
# It is recommended that you define on your system a unique user which the
# ftp server can use as a totally isolated and unprivileged user.
nopriv_user=ftp
#
#
# You may fully customise the login banner string:
ftpd_banner=Welcome to TDN FTP service. All activity is logged.
#
# You may specify an explicit list of local users to chroot() to their home
# directory. If chroot_local_user is YES, then this list becomes a list of
# users to NOT chroot().
chroot_list_enable=YES
# (default follows)
chroot_list_file=/etc/vsftpd/chroot_list
# When "listen" directive is enabled, vsftpd runs in standalone mode and
# listens on IPv4 sockets. This directive cannot be used in conjunction
# with the listen_ipv6 directive.
listen=YES

# If enabled, vsftpd will display directory listings with the time in your
# local time zone. The default is to display GMT
use_localtime=YES

pasv_enable=YES
pam_service_name=vsftpd
userlist_enable=YES
tcp_wrappers=YES

Ok. Overall, it looks good. Post /var/log/vsftpd.log so we can get a better look at exactly what is going on. Something isn't making sense, and I really want to get this working for you LOL

that file is huge, and also i looked in there after i unsuccessfully tried to delete the folders, no errors in there. basically all that file logs is if the uploads/downloads were successful or not.

what specifically do you want to see out of there, or are you just fishing for some golden nugget in there?

Pretty much. I'm leaning more towards the groups needing to be changed, or users need to be added to them.

Like I said earlier, the users are all in the same group. The users can delete the folders fine if they are uploaded from a PC. It must be a setting on the Mac that changes something when they upload that prevents them from deleting the folder. Maybe someone else has experienced this before and can chime in. Thanks for trying.

I know, I know. It just seems weird. I'm looking around on some mac forums, maybe I can find some information for you.

I couldn't either, don't feel bad :-)

Maybe someone else has come across this or has some other ideas.
