hi all

i am new to fedora core 8.
i have just brought a core 8 dvd and trying to install it and it installs fine.

but the problem is, it doesnt installs in graphical mode.
the options are :

1- Install or upgrade the system
2- Install or upgrade the system (text mode)
3- resuce the installed system
4- memory test


i choose so many times the first option but it still goes to text mode.
i dont know why.can anyone tell me why ??? or fedora core 8 doesnt install in gui mode.

my processor is AmdAthlon pantium-III

i would like to mention that i installed core 8 and used it for 4 days but need to install it in gui mode so that i can select all packages and libraries at the time of installation.

AFAIK text-mode can do that too: just choose "advanced" everytime there's a selection possible.


If for instance graphic card detection fails it drops back to textmode. If you know (research) your card is supported then it should not be a problem: you can fix GUI mode later on.


That does not compute.
