Have you tried issuing command:
telinit 5
To put you in graphical mode. If you have internet connection you can also see if it is not a big deal to un-install GDM and re-install it to see if that corrects it with commands:
yum remove gdm
yum install gdm
I just did a mock removal of gdm and yum only needed to remove that one package, doing this may re-configure what is messed up. Just a suggestion.
