After clean system upgrade to Fedora 36 from F35, after the next update systemd suffered multiple . service fails. My system has been running for years without reinstall.
I can log in thru my password, but boot fails with no access to virtual desktops -- with or without safe mode.
Is it possible to reinstall systemd or other necessary boot requirements from Live CD without losing the rest of my system and applications already installed ? I have a number of applications that will be difficult to reinstall otherwise. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Possibly you will have a more focused and informed response if you ask the question on the 'ask fedora' forum https://ask.fedoraproject.org.
Looking at the logs with
Code:
journalctl -b -0
should allow you to see what errors may have been logged in the latest boot and searching for the services that failed to load there or with
Code:
dmesg
might give you some ideas of what went wrong.
Without some information as a starting point we would totally be guessing in any responses we may provide. We don't even have a clue as to what services may have failed, nor what kernel you are running.
Hi thanks to all of you for your response. I had a backup of the system when I did the original upgrade, and discarded it afterward to make room It was on the net ordinary update that I lost my systemd services. I cant read the journalctl because I can't get access to any terminal virtual or otherwise. I have a LUKS password , and can get into boot through the password, and then boot stops after several systemd.service fails. I'm going to try to find a way to use a Live- CD and see if there is any way to Log In and give permissions to root on the Live CD so I can access or reinstall Systemd. If that fails I may or may not reinstall Fedora. I just experienced a similar failure with Debian, which I have installed on another drive. Debian is at least months behind Fedora, so I'm guessing there will be more problems to come. Fortunately, I also have PClos Linux installed, and it uses SysVinit -- latest version , and no problems. Thanks again, all of you for your response.
If I can get some photos of the boot sequence I'll try to post them here.
