fc9 only seea 31Gb of 180Gb, upgrade from WS5 messed up!

Attempting upgrade from WS4 to FC9. It's a disaster.
Trashed xorg.conf, not running network, root partition only sees 31Gb, etc.
Help!

Data is backed up on external drive. Should I try for a 'clean install' instead?
Thanx!

A clean operating system installation is almost always the better choice.

Dont Panic!...developments

Thanx...ok, the system is alive, and appears to be working, but no cdrom, no auto-mount for a flashdrive. The flasdrive contains a nvidia driver needed to get a proper xorg.config file going.
How do I mount either the cdrom or flashdrive? (There is a cdrom with the same file, made on a windoze laptop...)
Thanx.
