extracted folders can't be deleted in knoppix Downloads folder.
Working in Knoppix ram/usb on a desktop computer, I got into some sort of file quagmire. It started when I was experimenting with an ubuntu iso file which I copied into the knoppix usb downloads folder "/home/knoppix/Downloads"
(I'm intending to install ubuntu on one of the HDDs on same computer, and I since found that I should do that on a separate usb drive, which I'm doing now).
Trouble is, I extracted the ubuntu iso inside the knoppix downloads folder with some sort of "archive" app (a right-click option). Now that I don't need them, these unpacked folders (such as ".disk", "boot", "casper", "dists", "install", etc) can't be deleted. I get this error message when I try to delete them: "filesystem.squashfs.gpg: Error removing file /home/knoppix/Downloads/casper/filesystem.squashfs.gpg: Permission denied"
I tried rebooting knoppix to see if that would help, but it didn't. As a test, I tried copying and deleting a Libreoffice doc in the same folder, and that worked fine. Also I was able to easily delete the original iso and even the extracted "read-me" type text docs. So the problem appears to be just for the extracted folders from the iso.
Ideas on how to get rid of these unwanted and rather large folders?
