External hard disk and flash disk and Sound do not function on Sun Ray 270 thin cl

I installed Vmware ESX Server 4.0 on Sun Fire x4140 server and also installed four Guest server operating systems; Solaris 10 as my Sun Ray Server to enable me boot the Sun Ray 270 thin clients with a Terminal server running a Guest Windows server 2008 R2,Vcenter Server Guest running win 2008 server.
But my problem is that i cannot hear sound on sun ray 270 client monitors and the flash disks also cannot be seen when i plug them into USB ports. So could it be that the Sun Fire x4140 server has no sound card or i need to install the sound drivers for windows server 2k8-R2 which is my terminal server.
Please help me because my clients need sound on those sun ray 270 thin clients.

Regards
Jose

Now that servers don't come with sound cars then does it mean to have sound on sun ray 270 thin clients, i need to purchase a sound card for my Sun Fire x4140?
Your help will be appreciated.

Servers don't have sound cards as there's no need (Generally speaking) They live in Data Centres where the only sound tends to be the fans and air con.

That said... I've got an HP Proliant ML370 G4 which doesn't have a sound card - I fitted a cheap (£7.00) USB sound card dongle which works fine, though I haven't bothered to sort out the 7.1 Dolby. Sterio's good enough. (I don't keep it in a Data Centre!!)

The image which is up loaded to your Clients will need a kernel which supports both USB and whatever sound device the Sun Ray 270 has. I notice there is a headphone jack from the spec. Beyond this, I'm afraid I can't be of more help.

Play Bonny!
