evince:lost prompt


When I try to open pdf using evince in terminal, it loses the prompt and I couldnt do anything in it. Can sumbody explain to me what is happening

What do you mean by loses the prompt? Does the pdf show up? If you want to carry on using the prompt whilst evince is running, append a '&' to the end of the command e.g.
