Every 15mins(exactly) my pc goes into hibernate mode. Why?

Hey Everyone,

I can't figure out why my computer goes into hibernate mode every 15 minutes whether I am using the pc or not. Do you know why this happens and how I can stop it? I turned off APM thinking this would cause it. I am using Mandrake 9.2(no updates yet) .

Thanks Everyone in advance!

Hey, Welcome to LinuxQuestions.org

Where did you turn it off at?

Did you turn it off in the BIOS?

Also......are you sure it's your computer or just the monitor?

Hey Whitehat...

That's a good question. I turned it off in the Mandrake Control Center and then chose Services and Daemons. I did not think to turn it off in the Bios. I will try that.
I am pretty positive it is the computer itself and not the monitor but I could be wrong.
Even so... If I was active on the pc shouldn't this prevent any type of hibernation from occuring?
It happens exactly every 15mins.
Thanks for helping me. I really appreciate this.

Thanks again,

Joel

Dude.....No problem

Yes, you are correct. If you are using the PC it should not happen. I have never heard of that happening. I overlooked that in your post. Hmm....

I'll get back to ya...
