Question Etherium Mining

Is this the right place to get help setting up my new etherium mining rig? Most of the instructions I have found online are for windows and they keep talking about a bat file. How do I translate that into Linux?

It's a start, however unsure if another forum might be suitable. Meanwhile you should update your reply to offer what you have tried, what information you have referenced, as well as what Linux distribution you are working with.

Also, without looking up that particular miner, my experience with other miners are that they are web appliances where you talk to them using a web interface.

And then, sorry a minor due diligence on my part was to perform a brief search.
  1. This is a software miner, hence it is not an appliance as I alluded to above, therefore no web server.
  2. My brief search using the term "ethereum mining" turned up quite a few hits, and some of the top ones discuss Linux releases. Perhaps you should do some further due diligence of your own.

Signmakertennessee, welcome to LQ.

Instruction for windows will have almost no use in linux. You can read the .bat file as it is simply a text command and you might be able to see what it is doing. However you need to find a linux tutorial.

In the end you may find your electric bill was higher than your "virtual" gains.

The State of Texas has listed bitcoins a ponzi scheme and I have to agree with them.
