Error when I try to play MP3 gstream error dev/dsp/ in use

Hi everyone,
I just installed my first linux mandriva 10.2. And when I try to play an mp3 file I get a Gstreamer error dev/dsp/ already in use. I dont know which program is using it and I dont know how to fix it.

you've probably got gstreamer set to use OSS output, whichis old and crappy. try to use Alsa instead.

More likely something like the arts deamon is running and using up the card.
Either tell your music player to use arts or tell arts to quit.
