error of sudo


Hey guys, as im using linux for the past 6 months have learnt a few things but still many doubts are there?
could some one help me please....
so here is the first one.
1.sudo command runs command as root,is that our name should be mentioned in the sudoers file of root?
i got the error like this-"sandyain is not in the sudoers file.This incident will be reported."so what is that mean?

either your name or your group should be mentioned in the sudoers file

even though i know the root passwd my usr name should be mentioned in sudoers list right?

Sudo allows a partitcular user or group to make changes to your computer without giving root password. Also root can place restrictions on a sudoer.
