Error in using YUM instal cmd


I am new to linux.I am using centos 5.

I have Downloaded AdobeReader_enu-7.0.9-1.i386.rpm from ner. I try to install using YUM

[root@zeus Software]# yum install AdobeReader_enu-7.0.9-1.i386.rpm
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Install Process
Setting up repositories
Could not retrieve mirrorlist error was
[Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-2, 'Name or service not known')>
Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: base
[root@zeus Software]#

please guide me to install not only for this AdobeReader. some basic about proxy setting in repo file

See "man yum" in particular you are looking for "localinstall" for installing rpms you have already downloaded.
