hi guyz..pls help me out...
i hav successfully configured the fedora directory server on FC 10 without any errors...

and in the client side using the command

#system-config-authentication

i hav given the necessary details...

my ldap server ip is 10.0.0.14


FQDN is server.example.com
dc=example,dc=com

/etc/nsswitch.conf

passwd files ldap
shadow files ldap
group files ldap

/etc/openldap/ldap

host 10.0.0.14
base dc=example,dc=com

eventhough i configured correctly i couldn't able to login the client with the users...
in clinet machine it shows the following error
ldap_bind:can't to the ldap server.
but i hav given the details correctly

pls pls pls pls help me out guys....

Can you do the equivalent bind that you've specified in /etc/ldap/ldap.conf from an ldapsearch command line? That's normally a good point to break it into seperate pieces.

i cant bind using the ldapsearch command in client...
it shows the following error..
ldap_bind:cant contact ldap server..
pls help me out..
im doin this assignment for past 1 week...

ok, back to basics then... is the service even running? can you ping the server? is there an iptables firewall in the way?
