Error: "550: Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client" -> I have it!

I tried to send an email now, and it returned a "FAILURE NOTICE". The message is:

Code:
Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.

<contato@arcadafinal.com.br>:
550: Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client.
sonic312-21.consmr.mail.bf2.yahoo.com [74.6.128.83]:45220 is not permitted
to relay through this server without authentication.

--- Below this line is a copy of the message.

# are there more useful info here? Ask me how I copy it without
# revealing unneeded details for the discussion
(...)
I am using thunderbird, and the SMTP for that account (and probably for all I have here) has:

- server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
- port: 465
- username: me@here
- auth. mode: normal password
- secure conexion: SSL/TLS

A search for "550: " line of the message did not bring good results. What do you think? Anyway, if you want to test, that email is the intended email address. If you visit the website at that domain (a site in portuguese: arcadafinal.com.br), you will see that email address in part of it.

From what you have given us it looks like the problem is with how arcadafinal.com.br have configured their mail servers. The mention of sonic312-21.consmr.mail.bf2.yahoo.com would show that they are rejecting mail from yahoo's mail servers.

So it's nothing to do with your authentication.

Oh, and the fact that the mail server THINKS yahoo is trying to relay through it, rather than accepting the mail would also indicate a messed up mail configuration by arcadafinal.com.br

Wow! Is there something I can do to tell them that? Is there another way to contact them, besides this email address they give? Maybe from where they are hosted... which is that command to check information of who own a domain? It is not who... it is not nslookup... and my 5 minute search could not find. Write the right query would help, of course, but I tried.

Actually, there are their profiles in the social networks FB and IG. So I will mark this thread solved - but future comments are welcome, if anyone wants to do.

LOL... whois was the command I knew I have seen before! I tried 'who', but that was unrelated to what I wanted.

Is there a hidden meaning in your praise?

That site, from a cultural point of view, is very nice! It is a project to invite musicians beginning their career to play for more people. There will be some free presentations of them, in Brasil. The music arrangements (if this is the correct word in English) were made by a respected conductor. All the songs, other details and their partitures are free for all to download and check. And there are videos to watch it being played too.

At first glance did enjoy how their site appeared, their presentation both information and graphics, were inviting so passing URL onto some who are more musical aficionado's than self.

BTW in my home the I do like musical on 24*7
example https://radio.abc.net.au/stations/classic/live

Apps for arcadafinal.com.br did not play any music on my opensuse desktop, not so unusual, so will try later on other OS's and browsers.

On most linux using a terminal just type : apropos who
apropos - search the manual page names and descriptions

Browse the results with the -h for help, example whois -h

They should like it. Although the partitures are made for specific instruments, they probably can be played in different ones without much work from who plays it.

Thank you for the link. (:

arcadafinal.com.br is not a site to hear things! The things to download there are books, and nothing more. The only thing you play there is a video that is hosted in Youtube, with one music from the several ones we have in the books I mentioned. And we do not need to download several links. The first link (in upper left), named "LIVRO COMPLETO", is a zip file with all the downloadable books inside it. "LIVRO COMPLETO" means "FULL BOOK".

Thank you for showing that 'apropos' command! I am sure I will use it more, from now on (:
