Just an extra question. What are you planning to use wine for? Because I've to say, besides notepad and textpad, I could not run much stuff with wine . Maybe you would prefer to use a native linux program. This table of equivalents Windows - Linux is very very handy... WineX is a totally different beast though. It runs Windows games very well and brought me nothing but happiness

Linux really is the biggest maze to find answers......headache!......

tried yum install wine and it does this....

.............blah blah blah....getting /var/cache/yum/base/headers/libxslt-devel-0-1.0.25-1.ppc.hdr
getting /var/cache/yum/base/headers/skkinput-0-2.04-2.ppc.hdr
getting /var/cache/yum/base/headers/aspell-pt_BR-0-2.4-10.ppc.hdr
getting /var/cache/yum/base/headers/byacc-0-1.9-22.ppc.hdr
getting /var/cache/yum/base/headers/perl-Date-Calc-0-5.0-25.ppc.hdr
IOError: [Errno 104] Connection reset by peer

What? another error??? IOError: Rrrno 104 Connection reset by peer

Ahhh sod it. I'm going to download Mandrake tonight and chuck that on tomorrow

Sorry to take long time to reply, I kinda fell sleep last night . You could always try installing rpms too. I personally don't like them, but sometimes they do the job. Download a wine rpm and install it with:

rpm -ivh wine-yadda-yadda-yadda

Note: That would also work with Mandrake if you will give that one a try
