Question Equivalent of Yast in RH/CentOS?

Have been using SuSE for a while now and have found Yast really good to install single packages that you can search for.

What is the equivalent of Yast on RedHat / CentOS as I have used the Add/Remove Applications GUI tool but you can't search for a single package

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Pete.

im not actually sure of any tools that work like yast but there is apt-get which coupled with synaptic make a great combination,

download the appropriate files to install apt-get,

run

apt-get update

then run

apt-get install synaptic

it installs all dependant files and can upgrade the files already installed on your pc.

there is also yum but i havent got a clue what kind of interfaces there are for it.

hope it helps

Redhat and derivatives don't have anything like YAST software tool. You could install a tool called YUMEX which is a GUI for YUM and has search capabilities.
