dvdrip too many video packets in the buffer

Sorry for my bad english and my small linux-knowledge.
I try to rip a DVD, I followed the instructions and ripper is starting the extracting of a chapter , but when it seemes nearly finished, it stops, saying
Quote:
13:16[Erreur]
and the terminal says
Quote:
too many video packets in the buffer
(encoding would be the next step but cannot start it as long as extraction isn't finished).
Could someone explain in simple english what I have to do ?
I have Ubuntu 8.04 - Hardy Heron
Thank you

I hate to ask people to try other software but you might want to give handbrake a try. I use it on my laptop running linux mint and it works great. you can get it from here
