Question Dual booting Win xp on SATA RAID and Suse 9.2 on hda?

Hi, I am new to Linux and am having trouble dual booting Win XP and Suse 9.2.

I have a P4C800E Motherboard, 1 GB of Dual Channel 3200 RAM, Intel 3.0 GHZ Processor P4. I have searched several sites and forums on dual boot problems and have tried each suggestion with no luck. I have tried using the Boot.ini method and loading Grub/LILO in the first boot partition. I have also tried using Grub and LILO and altering thier config files. I think the problem is that I have Win XP on a SATA Promise Raid Array (two 120 GB SATA drives), and am installing SUSE 9.2 on an IDE drive on Channel 1. I can change my boot sequence in the bios, but I think the system is still looking to the IDE drive on Channel 1 first and assigning it as hda or hd0. When I try to boot to the RAID array and use the boot.ini method if freezes when it tries to find Stage 2. If I try using the Grub or LILO and booting to the IDE drive first it will let me boot to Linux but won't boot the Win XP on the RAID array. I think the last is due to Linux not seeing the RAID Array when trying to hand off to Win XP. Any Suggestions or documents currently out there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

Dave

dont know if this is Ur problem, but I found in SuSE's site that the repartitioning tool from suse 9.1 + uses LBA.

U can try this: enter the bios and don't let the bios to autodiscover the hard disks. Configure them by hand and ativate LBA.
I did it and it worked.

U would like to search SuSE 's site for this problenm.
