I tried another site and it worked fine. I can boot into Linux Ubuntu or Mac OS 10.6.4. Now I have some issues with Ubuntu I think I will put in another post.
The link you supplied is for the Server version of 10.04. I would like instructions for the desktop version or is it the same? I am now having a lot of issues after installing Ubuntu on my Mac dual boot. I am not very happy because I am sting so much time trying to fix all of this when in my opinion it should all work with minimal work involved. I feel like I am back in the erly 1990's when I spent a ton of time trying to get things to work. We are now in 2010 and the problems I am experiencing should not happen. Especially with Ubuntu which I really like!!!!!
I install Ubuntu 10.04 on my Mom's Dell laptop and everything works fine! No issues. Just works.
I am so frustrated . I don't know where to go from here.
Thanks so much prayag pjs!! I was so upset that I was about to delete everything. I think I will stick it out to find the answers I need.Your positive post above makes me think that there is still hope for the four issues I am experiencing. Here are the problems:
1. Everytime I start Ubuntu, windows open up displaying every one of my external USB drives. I don't want anything to show on my desktop when I startup, I quit out of everything and close all windows before restarting Ubuntu so I don't know what is going on.
2. Unable to play any of my videos be they mov, avi files whatever. Movie Player opens the file which I can play, but when I go full screen, Movie Player quits. VLC player doesn't even open up the video.
3. Unable to use the built in camera on my iMac. Doesn't work at all.
4. Unable to record anything when the Audio In is selected in my Sound preferences. Works fine if i reboot into my Mac.
If you require any additional info, please post back the commands I should put in the terminal so that this will help you out more. I really want to get these problems fixed. It has been over three days now and funny as it may sound, I want to use Ubuntu, not my Mac. There is something about Ubuntu that I really like. I am a GUI type person so the terminal is still relatively new to me.
