Dreamweaver and Wine or alternative editor

Hello, I am new to Linux and I hope here to find a webmaster who can help me. On windows I use Dreamweaver to build websites. An important feature of this software is the ability to modify the template of numerous web pages (I have a site with 500 web pages) and to find all the updated pages (without having to modify them one by one). If any webmaster knows how to recommend a Linux application with this feature, I'm ready to abandon Dreamweaver. I tried to install Dreamweaver with Wine but the program does not install and it tells me that Dreamweaver is only for windows. Thanks to those who will be able to help me. Claudio Cesare

While I don't use Dreamweaver, there is a developer I know that uses Aptana (http://www.aptana.com/), which (she says) has similar capabilities. Without knowing what pieces you use, or what that tools capabilities are, I'm not sure if it'll be 100% what you need. Worth a look, though.

What I did is this: separate the content from the web design.

Then you can use all sorts of "engines" for the web design: a static site generator, a content managing system etc.

Disclaimer: I think WYSIWYG HTML editors are the bane of the WWW and must go away.
