Downloading .tar.gz from tty ... Chicken and Egg???

Hi

I find myself in a chicken and egg situation. (or I'm missing something simple)

I'm building a custom Desktop based on Arch.... I have a base and have installed Slim and am looking to load Awesome WM.

I need to download the .tar.gz from the internet to build it as its part of AUR and not supported repositories.

So..... How do I download it from the command line in the new box I'm building? I don't have a web browser installed yet or a WM....

I know I could use a different box and download it to usb or something and then grab it from there but there must be a "proper method/ more elegant method" which I would like to learn at this point.

I have read around wiki now for the entire morning looking for programs and must be missing something.

Thanks in advance for your time.
