Question Dovecot pop3s, and SSL

I have been running Dovecot for about 4 months now, with no problems-

I'm running Fedora Core2, and run my own mail server, using sendmail and dovecot. In the beginning it was working, and if it works- don't try to fix it. After reading alot on Linux password security, and sending passwords in the clear, I began to feel a little uneasy about how dovecot was set up, and wanted to switch it over to imaps, and pop3s-

I can't seem to figure out HOW to do it. What I need to do, and exactly where to start.

I changed the dovecot.conf file to add only imaps and pop3s as allowed protocols, and commented out the pop3, imap port in /etc/services. I also ensured port 995 was open, and would allow traffic- it does, and verified it works with telnet xxx.xx.xx.xx 995

So, I'm that much in to it, and now I'm stuck, and hoping I can gain help here.

Thanks in advance.
