does ufw work on debian


What is the easiest firewall to set up on Debian 7?

iptables is built into the kernel so I think it is probably the easiest to setup. There are however many different tools that can be used to set it up. For reasonably standard configurations favourite is arno-iptables-firewall.

gufw is a GUI interface for iptables. If you are running a GUI, it's likely easier to set up than ufw. It's as easy as the non-defunct Firestarter.
