I've been trying to follow the manual as well as google, and I can't get it, I need a step by step for suse 9.3 to set up 2 drives as LVM.
One drive is a 189gb and the other is a 115, basically I want to eventualy get some hotswap drives and a couple ata cards *4 pci slots open) to add some more later, but can't seem to get it to get both drives working together as LVM.
it's a bit of a cheek to ask someone to write a full guide just for you don't you think? especially when there are already guides on LQ for it. http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/LVM

No not really considering it could help thousands or hundreds of others looking for the same exact thing. But thanks for the link, it's written like everything else I've come across "Linuxese", but I'll give it a go when I take the guts out of the box tonight and put it in the new box.
P.S. I guess you didnt read the thread title " does someone have a step by step to LVM"!
The man and info pages are also valuable resources, once you learn to read them. At some point, you will have to learn to read “linuxese” or be condemned to a life with only windows.

That is considered a guide? You are kidding me...right? I almost fell for it, too. The guide the Wiki refers to in "external links" is not too bad, but it could use visual aids and a way to switch between a detailed and non-detailed treatment of the subject.
