Does Linux mint have a usb imager with persistence option?


hello all

I'm using linux mint 20. I want a usb imager to create a bootable linux usb with persistence storage. Does mint have this kind of program? thanks

There is software called mkusb which can be downloaded from a ppa. Instructions at the link below.

pendrivelinux.com also has a number of (some older) web pages and links to programs to make such a usb. You can make or add in persistence if you want to.

I used to make that kind of usb but found it to be a challenge to update. Now I only make real installs to usb drives.

Is this PPA trustworthy? Thanks

Yes it is trustworthy. It's used by a lot of Ubuntu users and discussed a lot on their forums. I've used it myself.

Another option is to check out VENTOY (see signature) and set up a USB key with live image files (iso format) and set up persistence per the VENTOY instructions.

I have not tested the current MINT live image, but a couple of versions ago it worked well with VENTOY.
